cars Auto and Truck Financing A typical scenario is that an individual who is shopping for either a new or used car or truck goes to a local dealer, finds the vehicle he or she desires, and then just signs on the dotted line of a finance agreement provided and recommended by the car dealership. Back up the truck! The odds are that the buyer is not getting the best or the cheapest loan available. It is a pretty good bet that the dealership is going to get a "referral fee" when you finance your car or truck through their recommended lender. Want to guess who ends up paying that referral fee? Now, this isn't always the case. Some of the best loans are offered through some dealerships, but that isn't always true, and you need to know which is which before you sign your name. Comparison shopping includes shopping for loans -- all kinds of loans. You do not have to take the loan that is recommended by a seller of anything…ever. You always have the right to arrange your own financing. It is easy, in the heat and excitement of the moment when you are buying a car or truck, just to take what is offered; but you do need to remember that the man or woman who has just sold you the car or truck of your dreams is first and foremost a salesperson. Their objective is to sell to you. First they sell the vehicle, and then they sell the financing for that vehicle. The best advice is this: Before you go shopping for that car or truck, arrange the best loan that you can find for yourself. Until you sign your name on a dotted line, you are not obligated to take any loan so if the car dealership makes you a better offer, you can still take that deal.

| Car and Truck Upholstery Care Car Radios and Sound Systems The first car radio was manufactured by Motorola in 1930. It was the Motorola model 5T71. It sold for between $110 and $130 and could be installed in most automobiles of the day. It was a big hit, and the audio system in automobiles has evolved into a major industry in the ensuing years. A "stock" car audio system is the one that was installed in the car when it was built. A "custom" audio system can mean anything from an upgrade of the radio to a full-blown customization of the audio equipment in the car. The most common and familiar audio equipment is usually referred to as a "Head unit" and consists of a radio, a tape player, a CD player and/or a DVD player. The Head unit is the most likely component to be upgraded. And check:Speakers for the audio systems in cars are usually located in the door panels and the rear shelves. The better/best quality speaker systems include a tweeter, a midrange, and a subwoofer. The car audio amplifier is another piece of equipment that is often added to car audio systems. The amplifier allows the music to be played at a higher volume than stock equipment. If you are going to install an amplifier, however, you need to be sure that speakers that are connected to the system can handle the volume. If your speakers are too small to handle the volume, you will blow out the speakers. When an audio system is upgraded, sound deadening material is often added to the luggage compartments (sometimes called trunks or boots) and the door cavities of the car to prevent the metal from rattling. This deadening material helps to produce a cleaner sound. |

Car and Truck Leasing DUI-The Crime and the Punishment Each state has its own laws regarding punishment for the crime of driving under the influence, but thanks to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), there is now a federal law that says that the legal blood alcohol limit is BAC .08 (it was BAC .10). MADD was originally against promoting a designated driver because the organization felt that it would encourage those who were not designated drivers to drink more, but they did change their position. A designated driver is a plan that does work. When a group of people are out partying and having fun, nobody is likely to be considering what the law against driving from point A to point B is after several drinks have been consumed. So the idea of having a designated driver appointed before the party begins, when everybody is clear-headed and sober, really is a good idea. There are many complaints and discussions about the punishment for the crime of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Most of those complaints center on the fact that judges are given a great deal of leeway in setting punishment. One judge might only levy community service for an instance of drunk driving, while another might set jail time, fines, and permanent loss of a driver's license for the same crime. Those who get the harsher sentences are the ones who complain. There isn't much doubt that punishment guidelines need to be set for judges to adhere to for the crime of driving under the influence. I believe that those guidelines will be legislated in the near future -- not in all states, but in many. However, no matter how harsh or light the punishment is for driving under the influence, it is still a crime. Accidents happen. People are killed or seriously injured. The best answer is simply not to drive under the influence.
